“Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment, until it becomes a memory.”  - Dr. Seuss

When I was a kid, I was, let’s say, easily distracted. More often than not, I was called back to the present by my mom shouting, “Danny, Be Here!” Although I am generally affable and energetic by nature, it was always a good reminder to slow down, be mindful, and be fully in the moment, wherever I was.

I have just finished up a three year stint at the iconic Beverly Hills steak house, The Grill on the Alley, rising from Host, to part-time Manager, to Wine and Beverage Manager and Sommelier.  I now enter the MBA in Hospitality program at the renowned École hôteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland to further pursue my passion for hospitality and business.  An adventure most certainly awaits.

And now, as I embark on my journey deeper into the world of hospitality, I’m finding this mantra, Danny Be Here, to be fundamental to my process of exploration. As my college advisor once said, “Put Danny on any street corner in the world and he will become local within a week.” Every time I arrive at a new destination, it’s important to call myself to the present, take notice of who I find myself surrounded by, what sensations I feel, and what the general flavor of the place is.

So I’ve created this site to help me record these experiences and share them in a BLOG!  If you’d like to know where I am or the next place I’m going to be, or if you have any recommendations of places I should go or people I should meet, please contact me HERE. Thanks and happy travels.

Cheers!
